I’m truly saddened to learn of Prof. Wenbo Li’s death. I extend my sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone Wnbo has touched through his work. Wenbo and I first met 30 years ago in Jilin University, China, and we have been collaborators，the nearest and dearest friend. He is an active mathematician of great intellect, and has got many infusive academicachievements in the field of applied mathematics. I am so sorry for losing my friend and even for losing an outstanding applied mathematician in the world.
